Aaron Sorkin confirms Christian Bale will play Steve Jobs
Star will take the lead in Danny Boyle’s biopic
Aaron Sorkin has officially confirmed that Christian Bale will play Steve Jobs in Danny Boyle’s forthcoming biopic, telling Bloomberg TV that the production has snared the best man for the job.
“We needed the best actor on the board in a certain age range and that’s Chris Bale,” says Sorkin. “He didn’t have to audition. Well, there was a meeting.”
And according to Sorkin, his script will give Bale plenty to get his teeth into, with the film to be spread across three mammoth scenes, each set before the launch of a major Apple product.
“He has more words to say in this movie than most people have in three movies combined,” says Sorkin. “There isn’t a scene or a frame that he’s not in. So it’s an extremely difficult part and he is gonna crush it.”
Jobs is currently in pre-production, with no official release date confirmed as yet.
