Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter screen tests start
Adrien Brody in the running
Six actors have been lined up to be screen tested for the adaptation of history-skewing horror Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter .
As 20th Century Fox scour the globe for a chap who can pull off the role of the 16th US President (as a demon fighter), the studio have asked six actors to come in and audition.
Those actors are Adrien Brody, Timothy Olyphant, Josh Lucas, James D’Arcy, Oliver Jackson-Cohen and Benjamin Walker.
Though none are particularly well-known for having big bushy beards and a penchant for bow ties, they’re all pretty tried and true when it comes to action films – clearly a deal breaking quality for the studio.
Vampire Hunter is being adapted into a 3D movie by Night Watch and Wanted director Timur Bekmambetov, based on Seth Grahame-Smith’s novel of the same name. Tim Burton is producing.
The plot twists history, reimagining Lincoln as a secret vampire hunter looking to avenge the death of his mother.
Who’ll get the gig? Too soon to tell, though surely Lucas (above) would most resemble Lincoln if given a beard and a funny voice.
