Activision teaser hints at Prototype 2 announcement
Super short video suggests that Alex Mercer’s next adventure is coming soon
Is Activision announcing Prototype 2 at Spike's VGA awards this Saturday? After picking apart its latest enigmatic 'Murder Your Maker' teaser trailer, we're going to go out on a limb and say absolutely, positively, 99.98% yes.
Either Activision is unaware that video players come with a pause feature, or it isn't trying too hard to keep Alex Mercer's return a secret. The teaser flashes words like 'New York [ground?] Zero' and 'infected', and a quick click around the 0:04 mark reveals a familiar setofblack tendrils wreaking havoc in an urban downtown setting. Need more proof? Rearrange the letters in Murder Your Maker and you get 'A Duke Merry Rumor' or 'Marred Euro Murky'. Way to be subtle, Activision.
See if you can find more clues in the 'blink-and-you'll-miss-it' video below:
The official reveal is scheduled for Spike's VGA Awards on December 11, which leaves us with an even larger mystery: when did the Spike VGA Awards become the WikiLeaks of video game announcements?
