Activision teases Amazing Spider-Man movie tie-in and new Tony Hawk reveals for VGAs

The Spike VGAs keep adding more and more reveals to its list. Hell, at this point they may have as many reveals planned as they have terrible jokes written for bored celebrities to humorlessly repeat. Activision seems to have a bit planned, as the publisher revealed today that on top of a new trailer for its upcoming Transformers game, we’d get info on new entries in the Spider-Man and Tony Hawk franchises. Check out the Spidey teaser/

As you can see in the teaser above, the already announced Amazing Spider-Man game is based on next year’s film and most interesting of all it features a return to the open world gameplay that made Spidey games famous. Developed by Beenox (they did the last two Spider-Man games), the title finally got an official web page in the lead up to the full trailer at the VGAs this Saturday.

Meanwhile Tony Hawk himself used his Twitter to tease a new game at the VGA. He wrote:

“I'll be announcing the upcoming release of something new on Sat; the same day as the Spike Video Game Awards. Coincidence? I think not.”

We haven’t seen much of Hawk since the twin assault of Ride and Shred seemingly killed the series. But after taking a little breather from the series, perhaps the skater game has finally been reinvigorated. We’ll get our first chance to see this Saturday night.
