Holy home video release Batman! Warner Bros has announced via US, comedian/talk show host Conan O’Brien’s Twitter account , that the complete 1960s Batman TV series starring Adam West will be released this year.
It’s still not clear which formats are in the offing, though DVD, Blu-ray and digital downloads are a safe bet. Imagine how pretty it could look in HD… The announcement comes on the eve of the Dark Knight’s 75th birthday and shortly after the release of a number of ’60s series spin-offs including a DC comic and a range of action figures.
For years Batman , which ran between 1966 and 1968, has been tied up in numerous rights issues, which have prevented a home cinema release. Apparently those have all been sorted now, which means we won’t have to watch Family Guy every week to get our Adam West fix.
Are you excited to see the Batman TV series get a home cinema release? Let us know in the comments.
