Alan Cumming keen on Nightcrawler return for X-Men: Days Of Future Past
“I would like to go back”
With Bryan Singer fast reassembling his old mutant pals for forthcoming X-sequel, X-Men: Days Of Future Past , another old face has expressed an interest in returning: Alan Cumming.
Cumming played Nightcrawler, the blue-skinned teleporter in X-Men 2 , and according to the Scottish star, he’d be only too happy to return for another outing.
“Someone told me that Nightcrawler doesn't appear in the story, but I don't know,” said Cumming. “I think they would have called by now, but I really like [X-Men 2] and everyone really responded to Nightcrawler. Enough time has elapsed that I would like to go back.”
If he does get the call, Cumming will line up alongside Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, Hugh Jackman and Famke Janssen, who are thought to be reprising their roles as Magneto, Xavier, Wolverine and Jean Grey respectively.
Directed by Singer and co-starring James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender and Nicholas Hoult, X-Men: Days Of Future Past will open in the UK on 18 July 2014.
