Aliens: Colonial Marines collectibles guide
Game over man!
Audio logs not only provide minor insight on the events leading up to the start of Aliens: Colonial Marines, finding these recordings also increases your Rank bar. Furthermore, the benefits you unlock through higher ranks applies to your profile for both single player and multiplayer. Compared to the tiny dog tags, these audio logs are easy to spot, since they’re represented by large laptops. You can’t interact with all the laptops in the game, though. This handy guide will lead you to all the ones that actually contain audio logs. Note that not all the missions have audio logs.
The colonial marines in the Aliens universe can’t seem to hold on to their dog tags. At least picking up after them is worthwhile. Like the collectable audio logs, getting a dog tag means added progress toward your Rank bar. And no surprise, there’s an achievement for getting all 35 tags. They’re small as dog tags go, so it can be easy to miss a few. Our thorough guide will ensure you find them all.
Along with the many dog tags scattered throughout the Sulaco and LV-426, the famous colonial marines from Aliens get additional name drops through six bonus weapons. These Legendary Weapons can’t be upgraded but are often useful additions to your already-formidable arsenal.
As Newt wisely put it, her doll “doesn’t have bad dreams because she’s just a piece of plastic.” It might be a piece of plastic, but in Aliens: Colonial Marines, it’s worth 20 achievement points on Xbox 360 and a bronze trophy on PlayStation 3.
Mission 1
AUDIO LOG: 1DOG TAG: 3LEGENDARY WEAPON: HICKS' SHOTGUN
AUDIO LOG 1
Pardon the spoiler, but have you come across your first Lurker yet? When you do, you’ll see a laptop nearby. Interact with it to get the first audio log.
DOG TAG 1
Found during the ‘Retrieve The Sulaco Flight Recorder’ objective. When the first pack of xenomorphs attack, head right toward the catwalk. The dog tag for Cpl. Dwayne Hicks is sitting on a crate.
DOG TAG 2
Near one of the doorways leading to the gravity well is a shelf with a small red book. Pfc. M. Moore’s dog tag is to the right of the book.
DOG TAG 3
Your final objective in this mission is to open the cargo bay doors from the control room. This will suck out several xenomorphs into space. Before doing this, explore the few crates at the back of the control room. Pfc. S. Trubetskoy’s dog tag is sitting on one of the crates.
LEGENDARY WEAPON: HICKS' SHOTGUN
Naturally, the Legendary shotgun would belong to Hicks, for close encounters. When you get to the top of the gravity well, explore the side rooms until you see a yellow icon next to an armor pick-up. The yellow icon is the the shotgun.

DOG TAG 1
After accessing the chamber using the powerloader, enter the room and look left. Cpl. Cynthia Dietrich’s dog tag will be on a nearby cryo chamber.
DOG TAG 2
After meeting up with Bella, follow the blood trails until you spot an armor pick-up. You’ll find Sgt. Z. Forcher’s dog tag to the armor’s immediate right, on top of a green crate.

NEWT'S DOLL
The graveyard of xenomorph husks in Mission 5: The Raven is one of the creepier locales in the game. It’s even more so since you have to traverse the area as silently as possible. This is also where you can find Newt’s doll, well, at least it’s head. After pulling the third switch in the sewer, continue along the unexplored portion of the sewer. You’ll soon come across a dead-end nook to the right. There you’ll see three barrels and the doll head on top of one of them.
