Alone in the Dark Halloween trailer
We're still in the dark...
Alone in the Dark, Atari’s new addition to the fright-fest series, has been on our radar for what seems like forever. However, apart from the fact that it’s set in Central Park, we still know very little about the gameplay, monsters or anything else for that matter.
So it was with high hopes that we hastily clicked play on the latest trailer, which you can see below, and waited for some plot-revealing action. A minute later, the trailer's over and now we know...nothing new.
Apart from a few shots of a couple seated on a park bench looking a bit worse for wear, the trailerreveals nothing more than dark and misty location shots. This couple could, of course, be our first look at some of theenemies in the game. They don’t look entirely human, after all. But until we get some firm gameplay details we’re as alone in the dark as you are. (Sorry)
We’re told this footage is shot entirely using the in game engine, so expect this impressive level of detail and visual style to appear in the final game, which will be hitting 360, PS3 and PC early next year. By which time we should know just what the hell is going on in New York’s famous park.

Hi I'm James or JJ if you like, I'll answer to both. I'm the Executive producer for GR video which means I've had at least a part in all the hot moving pictures you'll find on the site (even if that part was just saying, yes that's a good video). I also produce the Future Games Show and Golden Joystick Awards. Away from the office you'll either find me playing Fortnite, or walking my dog. I'm better at one than the other, I'll let you decide which.
