Amazing game peripherals from the stupid ages
It's junk! It's genius! It's a sexy collection of retro plastic
Starplex Game Selex
Nine Atari 2600 games lined up and ready to play without ever having to change the carts. And with the tasteful wood finish, it's nothing less than a true king of luxury game peripherals. Somewhere in Tony Montana's mansion was an Atari 2600 and you'd better believe he had the Starplex Game Selex hooked up to it.
CVC GameLine
Check this out - DLC for the Atari 2600! Sure, downloaded games only lasted about 10 plays, but still... This was pioneering stuff. Subscribers to the service even got a free download on their birthday. GameLine eventually folded, but from the ashes came Quantum Computer Services, which became America Online, which became AOL.
QJ Footpedal
Do you ever think how much better gaming would be if you could press buttons with your feet, instead of with your thumb? No. Of course not. Because you're not stupid like people in the early 80s were.
ColecoVision Super Action Controller Set
In a bid to grab some gamers away from Atari, Coleco released a controller aimed directly at appealing to the largely ignored five-handed gamer market. The guy that designed this went on to invent the only toothbrush that came with a user's manual and 24hr tech support.
Coleco Telstar Arcade
A games machine and all the peripherals you could ever need combined in one geometrically sexy plastic beaver-shape with knobs on. Paddle controllers. Light gun. Steering wheel. Gear stick. Pretend dials. What with this and super-hot disco Princess Leia, nerds in 1977 didn't know what to get a boner on for first.
