Cooking has arrived for island dwellers at last, so they can fill their bellies with more than fruit, which means there are now plenty of Animal Crossing: New Horizons cooking recipes to collect. Everything you find can be made, eaten, gifted, or simply just presented in your home, which is super adorable. Plus, a lot of the existing in-game meal items can also be consumed now thanks to Animal Crossing: New Horizons Update 2.0. Here's how to cook and collect all the Animal Crossing: New Horizons cooking recipes:

How to cook

1. Unlock DIY Recipes+

The first thing you'll need to do is head to the Nook Stop terminal in Residents Services and go to the 'Redeem Nook Miles' section. Here you'll find the 'Be a Chef! DIY Recipes+' upgrade, which will add the ability to cook and give you a selection of recipes to get started with.

2. Grab some ingredients

Next up, you'll need to collect the ingredients you need to make each of the dishes you want to create. A lot of them will need you to invest time doing some Animal Crossing: New Horizons farming, by collecting seeds and growing crops such as tomatoes, wheat, and more. Others will need fish or other ingredients such as mushrooms.

3. Head to a cooker

Once you've got the ingredients, simply head over to any oven, cooker, or stove that you have in your home. If you don't have one, you'll need to buy and place one in your home if you want to do some cooking. Cooking works in a very similar way to crafting at a workbench, so just interact with your oven, pick the 'Let's cook!' option, and then select the craftable recipe you want to make. Then it's just a case of waiting to see your dish get prepped! You can then decide to display, eat, or gift your dish later on.

After studying Film Studies and Creative Writing at university, I was lucky enough to land a job as an intern at Player Two PR where I helped to release a number of indie titles. I then got even luckier when I became a Trainee News Writer at GamesRadar+ before being promoted to a fully-fledged News Writer after a year and a half of training.  My expertise lies in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, cozy indies, and The Last of Us, but especially in the Kingdom Hearts series. I'm also known to write about the odd Korean drama for the Entertainment team every now and then.
