Anna Faris set to star in stalker roommate comedy
Based on her own pitch
Anna Faris is set to star in a new comedy for Paramount, based on her own untitled pitch.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the as-yet-unrevealed story will focus on Faris and a new roommate, "who turns out to be a stalker from hell" (we're guessing that's a metaphor and this isn't a tale of the supernatural).
Apparently Faris' agent and manager developed the project after hearing the actress refer to the true-life incident in an anecdote.
Well, at least that's a more interesting place to scour for potential projects than rooting around in Hollywood's back catalogue for reboot/remake material.
Faris is still probably best known for the Scary Movie franchise, though she's appeared in countless more comedic roles (and the odd not-so-comedic role, such as a teensy spot in Brokeback Mountain ).
The movie is currently being written by Deanna Kiziz, who has developed the idea with producer Palak Patel.
Next up from Faris is 80s-throwback Take Me Home Tonight , and after that she'll lead What's Your Number? , in which her character asks what went wrong in relationships with guys like Chris Evans, Zachary Quinto and Andy Samberg.
