Anna Nicole Smith found dead in hotel room
Actress/model dies, aged 39
Actress, former model and erstwhile reality TV star Anna Nicole Smith has died after collapsing in her hotel room at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Florida.
The troubled star was rushed to Memorial Regional Hospital, after her body was discovered by her nurse, where she died at 2.49pm.
Smith was in the middle of one of the most difficult periods of her life, fighting eviction and paternity suits, and still coming to terms with the death of her son, Daniel, last September.
Daniel died from a lethal overdose of methadone and anti-depressants in his mother's hospital room following the birth of her baby daughter Danielynn.
Playboy founder Hugh Hefner was among the first to pay tribute to the Former Playmate Of The Year: "I am very saddened to learn about Anna Nicole's passing. She was a dear friend who meant a great deal to the Playboy family and me personally. My thoughts and prayers are with her friends and loved ones during this difficult time."
Smith’s final film, Illegal Aliens, was released last year.
