Another Ghostbusters veteran is making a cameo in the reboot
Just yesterday news broke that Ernie Hudson, who played Winston Zeddemore in Ghostbusters and its sequel, had filmed a brief scene for Paul Feig's reboot joining Dan Aykroyd and Bill Murray who are also set to appear in small roles. And today brings the news that another franchise veteran has shot a cameo.
According to The Boston Herald Annie Potts - who played the Ghostbusters' laconic receptionist Janine Melnitz in the first flicks - is rounding out the original ensemble's cameo duties. She's reported to have filmed a short sequence as a hotel clerk but there's as yet no word on whether or not she'll be as deadpan as the 'busters former front desk gal. We're hoping that she might be a relative of Miss Melnitz - or even Janine herself, years later.
The Ghostbusters reboot recently wrapped principal photography in Boston ahead of its July 15, 2016 release date. Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon star as the titular foursome.
