AreaNet confirms 2012 release for Guild Wars 2 public beta launching in Spring
Get your passport ready and prepare to board for Tyria
O’Brien also talked about the game’s beta, which will give eager gamers a chance to dip their toe into Tyria's waters a little early (as long as they're willing to report bugs and such). Guild Wars 2's first closed beta test wrapped up just recently, and the developer is ready to start growing the pool of testers in the coming months. Starting in February, AreaNet will start inviting select members of the press to participate, and the size will grow from then on.
“In March and April we’ll aggressively ramp up the size of our beta test events so that many of you will have a chance to participate,” O’Brien posted. “And of course, this all leads to the release of Guild Wars 2 later this year.”
We're making sure that we're on the list to be in line for the press beta next month so we can bring you all the Guild Wars 2 news you can handle - and maybe a little more.
