Armored Core gunning for next-gen
Move over Chromehounds, now there's something meatier
Sega announced today that they'll be releasing the reigning king of giant robot combat Armored Core 4 on both 360 and PS3 in Spring 2007. Hopefully, the nimble laser-sword wielding mechs of Armored Core will make a nice counterpoint to the lumbering juggernauts of Chromehounds. It's not that we didn't dig Chromehounds, but we can't ignore the complaints we've heard that the robots in it were slow and cumbersome - an assessment we're inclined to agree with, in hindsight.
Only tiny specks of info are currently available regarding this new entry into the Armored Core series and we pretty much through them all into that first sentence up there. Still, we've got screens aplenty and this quote stating the obvious from Scott A. Steinberg, Vice President of Marketing for Sega "FromSoftware is a very talented team that specializes in developing mech-based combat games."
We happened to dig up this video from the Armored Core main site, but it will only work if you have Windows Media Player set up as your default player for streaming video. If you don't, there's no need to fret, we'll have it up on our site very soon.
