Assassin's Creed Origins papyrus scroll locations
1. A Long Drink - House of Life, Siwa
This is a nice easy riddle that starts ‘In Siwa, come find me at the bottom of a bowl.’ If you aren’t already in Siwa, fast travel into the middle of the village, take a look at the map and tag the helpful circle directly to the east of where you spawn in. Run over and you’ll find a perfectly circular pool where your loot lurks at the bottom.
2. Fertile Lands - Hypostyle Hall, Lake Mareotis
For the loot, fast travel to The Temple of Sekhmet and ride northwest from the temple and into the desert to find this ‘great place to go for a date’. You’ll find a ruined village and a perfect rectangle of four low walls with grass growing inside. Just jump in and it's in the grass.
3. Divided Valley - Great Library, Alexandria
The riddle that starts ‘in the centre of Sap-Meh Nome’ isn’t too tricky to find but you’ll need to fast travel to the synch point just north of the Anthylla Outpost to get to, funnily enough, the centre of Sap-Meh Nome. Tag the outpost to get your bearings and then ride south. You’ll find the canyon the riddle is talking about just before you get to the outpost. Find the rock bridge and you’ll see a number of green trees on one side and only one on the other. Drop down to claim your treasure from the base of the lone tree. Just watch out for crocodiles.
4. The Stone Gaze - Sarapeion Temple, Alexandria
You’ll want to fast travel to Lake Mareotis to find the riddle’s ‘island of ruins.’ There’s actually a synch point on the island in the middle so, if you're lucky enough to have already clambered up, fast travel there, dive off and then get straight back onto dry land. Head in the direction of the enormous pillars and you’ll find the loot neatly tucked away behind the one on the right, hiding from the gaze of the statue.
5. Nature's Way - Great Synagogue, Alexandria
To find your precious loot for the Nature’s Way scroll that starts ‘in the east section of the Kanopos Nome’ you want to fast travel to the synch point to the east of Appollodorus Estate. Once there you’re going to want to head north on your horse, go across the fields and cross the river. You’ll find yourself in a field of felled palm trees. Head for the one next to the fence that’s still standing and you’ll claim your bounty at the base of the tree.

6. Sobek's Rage - Temple of Sobek, Faiyum Oasis
To solve the riddle that starts ‘East of Krokodilopolis’ you need to fast travel to the Tomb of Amenemhat III in Haueris Nome. Head straight forward down the pyramid - yes you can slide some of the way - and run into the temple ahead. Head around the side of the statue in the middle, and head straight to the back of this statue’s head jutting over the top under the zipline outside the Temple. You'll find the loot immediately behind the statue's noggin.
7. In Plain Sight - Palace of Apries, Memphis
For your loot, you’re going to have to travel to the Faiyum Oasis to spot the cause of the multicoloured river. Fast travel to Krokodilopolis and then tag up the in the south east section. You can ride to a certain point and then you’ll need a boat to go the rest of the way. Steal one or swim to the island and you’ll find some multicoloured dye pools. Leap into the grey one, get your feet wet, and the loot is inside.
8. Burning Bush - Wabet, Memphis
To find the riddle location, you’re going to have to fast travel to Per Ousir and label up the dusty area across the water to the east. Ride to the coast and switch our your horse or camel for a boat and sail across the Nile. Make a beeline for the lone tree to the right of the mountains. Once you’ve avoided all incoming ships and boats, jump ashore and run to the bush to the left of the tree that’ll promptly go on fire when you claim the loot.
9. Twin Despair - Temple of Khonsou, Herakleion Nome
For the solution to your riddle and precious loot you’re at least in the right area. Fast travel to as close to the Yw Huts in Herakleion Nome as possible and head into the flooded north east of the map. Once you reach the Yw Huts, send up Senu to scope out the area and you’ll spot two huts on the east side, one with a roof and one without. Tag them up and head over. You’ll find the loot to the left of the closest tree in the water behind them.
10. The Leaning Tower - Karanis Temple, Faiyum
The Leaning Tower riddle is pretty easy. Fast travel to Dionysias and head north west on your horse. Follow the road along the shore until you spot an exceptionally wonky tower on your right hand side. Head around the back, past the stairs and you’ll find the loot hidden in a bush.
11. Dead or Alive - Apollonion of Cyrene, Kyrenaika
For the Dead or Alive Scroll you’ll need to fast travel to the Green Mountains. You want to head for the Roman Camp of Surus where one of the four war elephant challenges wait. Before you go in the gate to the elephant fight, call in Senu and mark the place inside the camp between the water and the edge of arena so you know where to aim for. Now head inside and ignore the giant grey beast bearing down on you. Just run straight for the loot, pick it up and then head for the gate you came in to escape the floppy-eared monster.
12. Underground Currents - Tomb of Battos, Cyrene
The loot for Underground Currents can be found in the not so idyllic Green Mountains. You’ll want to fast travel the south of Cyrene, next to a lake. From here dive into the water and get out on the left hand side. Call in your mount and, keeping clear of the camp, head to the north end of the lake. Soon you’ll come to a small stream. Head up it into the mountains and up the waterfall. You’ll find the treasure at the top.
13. Undue Haste - Temple of Zeus, Kyrenaika
To find the ‘life saver’ from the riddle fast travel to Apollonia and if you’re lucky enough to have unlocked it already, the lighthouse on the north island is actually a synch point. Dive into the water and then swim up to the right and back onto the island. Head around the back and you’ll find what you're looking for on the sands.
14. Stone Fungus - Eastern Cemetary, Giza
The treasure itself means a bit of a ride across the desert. Fast travel to Giza and then head south west to the furthest pyramid that houses the Tomb of Menkaure. Ride until you reach the pyramid, send up Senu and keep an eye out for two mushroom rocks to the north west of the pyramid. Ride up to the stones and you’ll want the little one on the right hand side. Your spoils are on top.
15. Ray of Hope - Tomb of Alexander the Great, Alexandria
So this probably the longest trek you’ll have for a papyri. The west entrance to the valley in the Quattara Desert is one of the five hermit locations in the game and, as well as the bonus ability point you'll get for taking a seat between the three torches in the pool, you’ll find the loot at the base of the furthest tree from the oasis before the valley gets seriously dusty.
16. Thoth's Secret - Temple of Thoth, Haueris Nome
For the loot location, you’ve got a bit of a trek but you’re going to want to fast travel to Hermopolis and then tag the treasure location on the south to get your bearings. Now jump on your horse to head to the shore, grab the nearest boat - or ask nicely - and head across the water. Now clamber up to what looks like a synch point, dive off and you’ll find yourself directly in front of the loot in a cave below.
17. Dead End - Zephyros Stables, Kanopos Nome
The treasure itself is over in Sapi-Res Nome and your nearest fast travel point is the synch point just north east of Letopolis. You’ll want to eagle dive down, call your mount and head up the coast, keeping the water on your right hand side. Pass a big pile of grass, logs and a ruined building. Up ahead on the right, you’ll see a dredged waterway with stone walls. Ride along to the very end, jump off your horse and nab the gear.
18. The Blasphemer - Valley Markey, Faiyum
The loot for The Blasphemer is in Haueris Nome. You’ll want to fast travel to Philadelphia and ride south east. You’ll eventually end up in a valley full of tiny pyramids. You want the one at the far end up on the hill that’s in the shadow of the slope. The loot is at its base.
19. Deafening Silence - Iseion Temple, Alexandria
For your precious gear loot, the quiet place in the riddle is an island just north of Alexandria. Fast travel to the middle of the city and ride north. Ride until you’ll have to swim or grab yourself a boat and head for the island. Once you reach dry land again, head left to the west beach and you’ll find it just sitting on the sand.
20. Forsaken City - Temple of Asklepion, Green Mountains
So to find the ‘house of the blasphemous man’ from the riddle you’re going to have to fast travel to a synch point south of Paraitonion. Jump into the hay below and then head down to the right and ride down the hill until you come to a ruined village. You want to head up to the very far right and up to the house on top of a rock that looks down onto the others. You’ll find the loot in the middle.
21. Sea of Sand - Temple of Horus, Sapi-Res Nome
For your randomised gear you’re going to need to fast travel to the south east of Iment Nome where there’s a ruined ship in the middle of the desert. Thankfully you’re not going to have to go far. Dive down to the palm leaves at the bottom and pass time until morning. The shadow of the mast marks the X and all you have to do is run down to collect it. It’s not exactly on the X but close enough.
22. Fallen Friend - Temple of Ptah, Memphis
The treasure for The Fallen Friend is also in Memphis where you'll find the scroll. Fast travel to the east of the city, dive into the water and jump on your horse on the other side of the river. Ride up the coast until you reach the two huge statues guarding that east canal. Jump into the water and swim straight (in the direct eyeline of the south statue). Dive down and you’ll find the little statue surrounded by bright blue fragments on the riverbed and the loot for your trouble. It’s before you reach the ship so keep an eye out.
23. Royal Flora - Galenos' House, Herakleion Nome
For your precious loot you’ll want to tag up this island south of Neith Cradle Hideout and then fast travel to Natho. Turn right from where you spawn in and find a boat to take you across the water. Steer down towards the river and keep going until you can’t sail anymore. Call your horse to continue the journey. The hideout will appear on your left hand side through the trees but you want that uber tree on the right. Scoot over the handy little bridge and you’ll find the loot here on the other side of the tree.
24. Just Laws - workshop south of Philadelphia, Faiyum Oasis
Your prize is hiding in Atef-Pehu Nome and the fastest way to grab it is to fast travel to Kerke Village. Once you arrive, head north east towards the camp on the river and turn left up the road before you get to it. Now keep following the road and keep an eye out for smoke ahead. It’s coming from a group of clay smokers on the right but you want the lone one on the left. Clamber up and the treasure is hidden on top.
25. Wet Work - Oracle of Apollo, Green Mountains
For the loot, you’re going to want to fast travel to the Aquaeductus Kyrenaike and instead of diving off, have a full on free running Assassin’s experience and run back up the aqueduct. Skip, leap, jump and climb until you reach the very top. Head into the cave in the cliff and you’ll find a pool straight ahead. Dive in and you’ll find the treasure underwater at the back.

26. Good Things Come - Temple of Thoth, Arsinoe Nome
The nice thing about the scrolls in the Hidden Ones DLC is just how close the riddle clues are to where you'll find the riddle. For Good Things Come, you'll need to head east of the Temple of Thoth where you'll find a giant black obelisk that looks like its in the middle of a sundial. Don't bother climbing up it. Just get to bottom and head immediately north to the beach. If you managed to head in one direction without getting distracted, you'll find your prize in the surf.
27. Tool of Apis - Temple of Ba'al, Arsinoe Nome
Sticking around in Arsinoe Nome, the Tool of Apis scroll is on top of part of some scaffolding in the Temple of Ba'al. The solution you'll find on the west coast of Arsinoe. Send up Senu and keep an eye out for a winch on a pontoon with four posts sticking out of the water in front of it. Once you've found it, just head over and swim between the posts to find the loot in the middle.
28. Lost Cause - Shur Quarry, Madiama Nome
After you find the scroll in the tent at the top of the quarry, you'll want to head to the body of water just north east of your current location. Send up Senu and you'll be able to spot a makeshift dam stretching across the water as two walls. Head in that direction and leap over the first wall. Between the two, in the middle of the river, you'll find your Rare or Legendary spoils.
29. Stealthy Shrub - Old Watchtower, Madiama Nome
And finally, the Stealthy Shrub riddle. Once you find the scroll in the basement of the Old Watchtower (yes you can destroy that trapdoor), you'll want to head around the Roman camp called The Walls of the Ruler if you want to find this without any Roman intervention. Senu will be able to spot that there's a tower on the south side that lies above a bushy tree. All you need to do is clamber up and claim your prize from the base of the bush.
