Assassins Creed Revelations gets unexpected tower defense minigame in new trailer
Even at his advanced age, Ezio still learns new tricks
We thought we knew everything about Assassin’s Creed Revelations. You stab people, you follow people and then stab them, and you jump on top of guys then stab them, all while unraveling ancient conspiracies. Then the game up and shocks you by including RTS elements in the game. As this trailer proves, Assassin’s Creed now morphs into a tower defense game during the campaign.
This may seem an odd fit for such a violent action game, but we like the malleability of the Assassin’s Creed franchise. Just as Brotherhood’s addition of multiplayer and team building paid off, this new tower defense mode could do the same, though sending waves of troops at towers seems too obvious for the treacherous Templars. We can’t wait to give it a try with the final version in just a matter of days (November 15), and we wonder if any more revelations remain for Creed’s gameplay. You can read more about this mode in our recent preview.
