Chapter 11: Military Supply Base

The kid gloves are coming off now – you’re going to be facing the army’s heavy artillery from now on. This is another straightforward stage, but it’s home to the toughest set of sub-bosses in the game.

You’ll start on a barren highway leading out of Tairon. Save your game at the nearby Dragon Statue, then head along the road through another door. Three soldiers wait to ambush you here – use your usual tactics to take them down, and then search near the area where you exited the tunnel for a Golden Scarab.

Moving along, you’ll see a big warehouse nearby. As you might expect, the door to get inside is locked. You’ll see a crate in the vicinity of the entryway, so examine it to get a new projectile weapon, the Explosive Arrows. Cool! Not too far away are two small observatory structures with guards at the top of each. If they see you, they’ll start to shoot you with their machineguns. Your goal here is to kill them and take the Warehouse Key. Since you can’t reach them with melee weapons, you’ll need to use arrows, incendiary shurikens, or your Windmill Shuriken to pick them off. Doesn’t sound too hard, does it?

Well, it isn’t too tough initially. Unfortunately, once one guard is down, groups of foot soldiers will begin to emerge from the nearby armored car with yet more machineguns (and even some napalm). It’s not easy to try and take out a faraway target while being constantly showered with gunfire. You have two choices here: Focus on the watchman, kill him, take the key, and run, or deal with the foot soldiers until you’ve eliminated their numbers, then turn focus back to the watchman. Either way, it can get pretty tough. The Warehouse Key will appear on the ground once the two watchmen have been downed. Take it and open the door leading inside the building.

This being a warehouse, you’d expect there to be items inside – and there most definitely are. Close to the center of the room are some crates that can be destroyed for rewards, including a Life of the Gods. To the right of where you entered the building is a train car that has a Golden Scarab lying on top of it. This one’s a little bit tricky to get – you’ll need to do a wall run nearby, then use your attack button in order to jump a little bit higher than you normally would. Land on the roof of the train and take your shiny prize.

Now, head to the left side of the room. Climb the stairs to the platform nearby, and you’ll be greeted by a bunch of helicopter robots flying about. Use either your Windmill Shuriken or your arrows to get rid of them from afar. There’s a crate next to the next set of stairs leading upwards that contain APFSDS Cores, another explosive arrow weapon, so make use of those if you’d like. After eliminating the robots, head to the top platform, then flip the switch to turn on the building’s power.

There are now a set of moving platforms that will help you across to the top of the opposite end of the room. On the third level here is a small, office-like structure. Jump onto the roof to discover another Golden Scarab, then break into the room to grab a map and a keycard. Go back out and drop to the bottom level of the warehouse, then use the keycard to open the door leading outside. You’ll be ambushed immediately by armored soldiers. There are a fair number of them, so don’t be caught off guard here.

After you’ve cleared the area, you can run around a bit to find a doorway leading into a small building. Inside, quite conveniently, are a Muramasa statue and a save point. Stock up and save before heading outside again and going through the steel door that unlocked after the last enemy swarm.
