Avengers: Infinity War - Josh Brolin was "blown away" by the story
Marvel have a lot of big, highly anticipated movies on the horizon, but none of them will match the size and scale of the Avengers: Infinity War movies. Said to be the "culmination of the entire Marvel cinematic universe", it will finally get Josh Brolin's Thanos out of his space chair and into direct conflict with our heroes.
"I sat at a table and I listened to the story from beginning to end", Brolin told Moviefone. "Sometimes you go around and you go, ‘Oh, it’s a great movie. Or this is a great experience,’ and you kind of know that it’s not. This is the opposite. … These Avengers stories all come down to this conclusion, and that’s our involvement. Basically, my character against everybody. And it’s really fun what they've chosen to do with the story".
"I think it’s brilliant, personally", Brolin continued. "I was blown away, and had goose pimples pretty much 50 percent of the time that I was listening to what was going on, and pretty amazed that I’m going to be involved in it. So it’s a big thing that’s coming up".
To me, the best part of this quote is Brolin's "my character against everybody" sound bite; Rather than a horde of aliens or a bunch of robots, it sounds like Thanos could be going up against the Avengers (and probably the Guardians of the Galaxy) at the same time. That has the makings of an incredible action sequence, and after the airport fight in Captain America: Civil War I have every confidence that the Russos will be able to pull it off.
Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Avengers: Infinity War - Part 1 is due to arrive in UK cinemas on April 27, 2018 before opening in US theatres on May 4th, 2018.
