Just in case you weren’t one of the 20,000 present at The Beastie Boys’ electric, intense Madison Square Garden homecoming gig of 9 October 2004, Brooklyn’s favourite sons asked those who were there to capture it. Trustingly they handed out 50 cameras to audience members, with the caveat that they film the entire gig from wherever they were. What results is a splurge of spontaneous vibrancy, sweaty mosh-views and punters ordering pints, bass-heavy rap forever pounding the legendary venue. Top marks go to the man who goes for a piss mid-concert, managing to film each dribble and flush, and the guy who spies Ben Stiller mouthing along to every lyric. If you don’t like the Beasties, it’s fair to say this will quickly gall, but as the ‘Intergalactic’ and ‘Sabotage’ encore kicks in, the energy infects – and propels 1000s more to that ‘Body Movin’’ bash...
