Back to the Future and Syphon Filter lead PlayStation Plus freebies

The complete Back to the Future video game series has been made free to PlayStation Plus members as part of the first PlayStation Store update of 2012. As listed on the PlayStation Blog, Telltale's point-and-click adventure franchise leads a list of January PS Plus deals which also include a free version of Romino Games' side scrolling RTS Swords & Soldiers, free PS one copies of Syphon Filter 1 through 3, half-off Rocket Knight, and 20% off Darksiders.

January's update also brings goodies for all PlayStation Network members. Highlights include free Resistance 3 weapons and skins, cheap(ish) Rocksmith and Rock Band 3 tracks, Just Dance 3 Avatars, plus a PSP Alien Havoc & Bubble Trubble Bundle for $3.99. Those looking to spruce up their background for the new year can also purchase new Metal Gear Solid 2 and Mayan Temple Dynamic themes for $1.99 apiece.

Last but not least, Sony has added two more titles to its downloadable library: NFL Blitz ($14.99) and TNT Racers ($9.99), the latter of which is also available as a free demo.
