Battlefield 3s newest Back to Karkand DLC trailer showcases classic Gulf of Oman map

After four weeks straight of new games, it may seem like ages ago when Battlefield 3 hit stores in late October. But even if you somehow got your fill of the addictive multiplayer and adequate single player, EA isn’t done with the game by a long shot. The first round of DLC is coming in the Back to Karkand pack which includes recreations of classic BF maps like Gulf of Oman, which is detailed in today’s new video.
The vehicle-filled, sandy land of Oman has been recreated before, but with this new coat of paint from the Frostbite 2 engine, it’s looking brand new. The download pack also boasts three other maps (Strike at Karkand, Wake Island 2014, Sharqi Peninsula), three new vehicles, and 10 new weapons. If you preordered BF3 the DLC is free, otherwise it’ll set you back $15 or however many MS Points that is. Though no date has been set other than “December 2011,” PS3 players have been assured they’ll get sunny carnage a week before everyone else.
