Battletoads in Shovel Knight on Xbox One, more appearances teased
The mean, green fighting machines of Battletoads are coming to Shovel Knight's newly announced Xbox One version, and we probably won't have to wait another couple decades to see their next game appearance after this.
Microsoft and developer Yacht Club Games revealed that Zitz, Rash, and Pimple will get a cameo appearance in the retro-styled platformer which is slated to hit Xbox One in April. Judging by the teaser trailer below, it looks like the soil-slinging hero will square off against all three toads in a surprise encounter.
According to GameSpot, ID@Xbox head Chris Charla made a brief aside about where we might see the Battletoads next after debuting the trailer. Nothing too exciting by itself, but when you think back to Microsoft's Windows 10 reveal event in January, where Xbox boss Phil Spencer took the stage in a Battletoads T-shirt...
Spencer's made a tradition of calling attention to certain series and developers via his T-shirt choice at big public appearances, and he's assured fans that he would never make a complete fake-out of a fashion statement.
Whether that means we should expect a full-on new Battletoads from Rare, or just a busy schedule of cameo appearances, it's good to see the assault amphibians back at it.

Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo.
