Beetlejuice sequel on the cards
A reboot not a remake
No, your head didn't just shrink to the size of a small coconut – Warner Bros. really are making a new Beetlejuice movie!
David Katzenberg (son of DreamWorks Animation head honcho Jeffrey) and screenwriter Seth Grahame-Smith have signed to the studio and one of their first projects is expected to be Beetlejuice .
Deadline.com reports that the film will be a reboot not a remake, advancing the storyline of the 1988 Tim Burton original.
The project is part of KatzSmith Productions' two-year first-look feature producing deal at Warner Bros.
“We first got to know Seth through his fantastic work on Dark Shadows and it immediately became a priority to expand our relationship with him,” Warner Bros. production president Greg Silverman told Deadline.com.
“Seth introduced us to David, who greatly impressed us with the vision for KatzSmith from the very first meeting. We firmly believe in their talents and are extremely excited to welcome them to the Warner family.”
Say it: "Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice!"
