Ben Kingsley joins The Love Guru

Like a casting tornado, Mike Myers’ new comedy The Love guru continues to hoover up the talent.
Sir Ben of Kingsley has agreed to play Guru Tugginmypudha (I think we know the level of comedy MM is aiming for here), an ashram leader who schools Myers’ title character in ways to love himself and how to wear a chastity belt. Looks like that Oscar for Ghandi really will be earned this time.
Also signing on board is Meagan Good, who will play a part in the movie’s central plotline about the wife (Good) of a hockey player (Romany Malco) who leaves him for a rival. And there’s more, as John Oliver (who you might know from The Daily Show) has agreed to play Dick Pants (fnarr), a manager trying to enlist the Guru to sort a rift between his client, Oprah Winfrey and Deepak Chopra.
With Jessica Alba and Verne Troyer also already on board, Marco Schnabel will start cranking the cameras on Friday in Toronto.
