Ben Stiller joining Greenberg
Replacing Mark Ruffalo on the comedy drama
Ben Stiller is likely to step in for Mark Ruffalo on the comedy drama Greenberg, written and directed by Noah Baumbach.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Stiller’s arrival will fill the gap left by Ruffalo’s departure. It’s not known if his dropping out is linked to his brother’s recent tragic death.
Amy Adams had been set to co-star, but it now look likes she’s off the project too and that Baumbach is talking to other actresses.
Relationship issues
As for the plot? Well, no one really knows anything yet as the writer/director is keeping the details locked away in his noggin until a deal is sealed. But it’s said to focus on relationship issues, which has been a big feature of other Baumbach films such as The Squid And The Whale.
But it’ll be interesting to see if this and a possible job directing The Trial Of The Chicago 7 means Stiller is headed back down a dramatic path.
