Best of E3 06: Wii
Nintendo's disruptive, revolutionary console is on its way. Here's what you're going to buy
Red Steel
Developer: Ubisoft Paris
Publisher: Ubisoft
Release Date:TBA
As the first fully revealed Wii game, Red Steel gets to reap the benefits of the "oh, neat!" syndrome. Seeing a functional first-person shooter running with the Wii-mote quickly put our concerns to rest, though it still needs a few tweaks before it'll be top of the line.
What caught our attention were the swordfights in between all the John Woo-style shooting - using each hand to mimic attacking and blocking, you get to slay or spare yakuza crime bosses with style instead of bullets. If those one-on-one duels get any beefier, they alone could be worth buying the game.
