Beverly Hills Cop 4 gets a 2016 release date
Axel Foley is back
Paramount has announced an official release date for Beverly Hills Cop 4 , with the long-awaited sequel set to hit US screens on 25 March 2016.
Brett Ratner is set to take the helm on the new feature, with Jerry Bruckheimer producing and Eddie Murphy returning to star as Axel Foley.
Josh Applebaum and Andre Nemec are currently working on a script, which will reportedly see Foley make a return to his roots in Detroit.
A new Beverly Hills Cop project has been in the pipeline for some time now, with a pilot having been filmed for a TV spin-off, only for CBS to pass on the option.
However, the footage of Murphy getting back in the old routine was enough to sell Paramount on the idea of another movie, which now seems to be officially moving forward at last.
