Beyond Good & Evil: game nobody bought getting HD treatment, coming to PSN and XBLA in 2011
Neglected gem gets another crack at the big time
Beyond Good & Evil is one of those games that hardly anybody played but everyone talks about. Just like Okami, it's another of gaming's great underrated injustices. But it's getting another chance. A shinier, more sparkly chance. A downloadable chance. A chance that is called Beyond Good & Evil HD.
On its way to Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network sometime in 2011, Beyond Good & Evil HD will be fully spuffed with 1080p definition, up-sexed visuals, textures etc, a re-mastered soundtrack, Achievements and Trophies and online leaderboards.
If you're in the dark about what Beyond Good & Evil is all about, this trailer for the original 2003 game will give you a pretty good heads-up of what to expect:
I played and completed the game on PS2 when it was first released. It's a good game, but I wouldn't go so far as to say it's a classic. Some of the hovercraft sections were an almighty pain in the ass and the stealth section won't be to everyone's liking. Still, it's a solid 8 for sure and definitely worth checking when it hits the XBLs and PSNs next year. Let's hope Beyond Good & Evil 2 isn't far behind.
