Big movie tie-ins for 2008
What Hollywood blockbusters will be getting the game treatment?
Bond 22 (working title) | Nov 2008
What's it all about?
Bond. Daniel Craig returns as the much edgier 007, while Marc Forster (Stranger Than Fiction, Finding Neverland) takes up directing duties. Plot is still a closely guarded secret, although rumours suggest that it will continue almost directly from the end of Casino Royale.
Is it getting gamed-up?
We can offer a 99.9% affirmative on this one. There are two Bond games in development at Activision and if one of them doesn't turn out to be a Bond 22 tie-in, you can throw us in the shark pool.
Should you be excited?
Abso-friggin-lutely. Previous Bond publisher EA was doing a piss poor job and since acquiring the licence Activision has committed to giving the franchise the kick up the ass it so desperately deserves. Treyarch is handling the PS3 and 360 Bond games and while the developer has so far had mixed success on new-gen consoles, with Call of Duty 3 far outshining the comparatively awful Spider-Man 3, we're hoping that given the development time afforded the project, it should be able to produce something special.
