Big movie tie-ins for 2008
What Hollywood blockbusters will be getting the game treatment?
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull | May 2008
What's it all about?
Archaeology. Directed by Steven Spielberg, the fourth film in the Indiana Jones saga is still a big Hollywood secret. We know some of the locations used for filming (including Hawaii, New Mexico and California) and that Harrison Ford returns as Indy, while other actors include Ray Winstone, Cate Blanchett, John Hurt and Karen Allen. But other than that, it's pretty much radio silence.
Is it getting gamed-up?
While there's no official movie tie-in as such, LucasArts is working on a spanking new Indiana Jones game for PS3 and 360 that we expect will be shrewdly released to coincide with the movie hitting cinemas. And quite frankly that'll do for us, thank you very much.
Should you be excited?
That's a stupid question. Of course you should be excited. It's Indiana 'every boy/man wants to be him' Jones for crying out loud. We know past Indy games have been less than stellar, but we're hoping that third time will be the charm. We know its set in 1939. We know George Lucas has overseen the plot. We know it features a punch-up in Chinatown. We know its meant to have super smart technology behind it. We know we're excited.
