Big movie tie-ins for 2008
What Hollywood blockbusters will be getting the game treatment?
Speed Racer | May 2008
What's it all about?
Cars. The Wachowski brothers return with a movie adaptation of Japanese anime, Mach Go Go Go. The plot centres around Speed Racer (Emile Hirsch) who has aspirations of winning a dangerous cross-country rally called The Crucible. To help him cross the finish line in first place, Racer gets behind the wheel of the formidable and super-sexy Mach 5.

Is it getting gamed-up?
Indeedy. It's coming to PS2, Wii and DS. No new-gen versions owing to restricted development time, apparently. Console versions are being handled by Sidhe Interactive.
Should you be excited?
We're moderately revved, although we'd be doing smoky donuts if the grown-up consoles were getting a look in. Still, it promises fast, sexy looking motors and 'combative racing' in a 'car-fu style'. Also, Sidhe did a decent job with enjoyable PSP burn-a-bout GripShift (which also appeared on PS Network and has just been announced for Xbox Live), so this could be well worth a gander.
