Bill Pullman talks Independence Day 2
Says it could happen without Will Smith
The impending arrival of Independence Day 2 has long been a rumour that won’t go away, despite Fox’s seeming unwillingness to greenlight anything without the confirmation of Will Smith’s involvement.
And while nothing new has emerged from Smith’s camp regarding the sequel, co-star Bill Pullman has suggested that the project may go ahead regardless.
“The Will Smith part of it may be ongoing but I think there’s strategies for both," said Pullman. "I like what I have to do in both of them.
“I’m not in an old age home in a wheelchair being wheeled out for one more moment,” he continues. “It’s a very interesting conception of what happens to Whitmore between then and when it picks back up.”
Whether or not anything will happen in the near future remains to be seen, but it does at least seem as though contingencies have been made in the event of Smith’s non-participation. Watch this space…
