The main event hasn't arrived, but early Black Friday projector deals are looking excellent so far. There are tons of discounts to be found at retailers right now, and you can even find record-low prices on some models – which has us very excited.

Plus, even some older savings are returning to the shelves over the past few days. Items like the BenQ X3100i were out of commission before, but they've come back in a blaze of glory just in time for Black Friday.

That means things are certainly heating up, and we'll see the real competition start shortly as the big day gets closer. Best Buy, Amazon, and Walmart have all launched their official early Black Friday deals in the last two weeks, with the most recent being Walmart. If you're looking to upgrade your home theatre this holiday season, you're in the right place.

I've been tracking Black Friday projector deals for years now, and I've learned a thing or two along the way. I'm rounding up all the biggest discounts on the best projectors around, while also providing some of my tips and tricks for making the most of the sale further down the page.

BenQ TK700 4K projector | $1,499 $999 at Amazon
Save $500 - The BenQ TK700 is a little older, but this is still the cheapest price it's ever seen. I've only ever seen this model dip to $1,099 in the past, never breaching that $1,000 threshold. This is the first time we've had a three-figure price tag on this 4K model, making for excellent value.

Buy it if:

✅ You want to stream and play games
✅ You have a 4K console

BenQ X3100i 4K gaming projector | $2,399 $2,199 at Amazon
Save $200 - This is a smaller saving considering the full cost of the BenQ X3100i, but it's also the cheapest the 4K gaming monitor generally drops to. It's been around $80 less once before, for a single day back in April. The latest flagship from a well-respected brand, this device wowed in testing but has been at this discounted rate for a couple of months.

What to expect from Black Friday projector deals in 2024

BenQ X3000i gaming projector

Trying to pick out specifics can get tricky given the projector market's size and diversity now, but the flip side of this means that there is likely to be something for everyone, no matter what you're looking for. Whether you're after a 1080p lense or something with some 4K grunt behind it, there are plenty of projectors vying for your attention this year. However, the biggest value is going to be found in older releases gathering more time on the shelves. Three, in particular, stand out to us; the BenQ TK700, Epson Home Cinema 3800, and the XGIMI Halo+.

The BenQ TK700 model first took our fancy a couple of years ago, and that $1,499 MSRP gave way to an excellent $1,099 sales price last November. That's a sales price that only recently came back into the fold, dropping once again at the start of September 2024. With the age of this device rumbling on, and BenQ already at last year's Black Friday price level, this could easily be a three-figure price tag in November.

We're also looking to the XGIMI Halo+ for a portable projector discount as well. The 1080p Halo retails at an $849 MSRP, but that's seemingly permanently dropped to around $799.99 this year - and even then sales have had it discounted pretty much constantly. It's usually available for $600 - $650 day to day, but has dropped as low as $549.99 this year so far. This is looking like a solid bet for a last-ditch attempt to clear stock in November.

The Epson Home Cinema 3800 is a slightly higher-priced 4K projector that's been on the shelves since 2020. That's a long time in this world, but 2024 has seen it drop from $1,699.99 to $1,399.99 with far more regularity than ever before. 2023's sales only hit this position once or twice, but this year it's been available for months at a time. That means we're holding out for something a little extra in 2024's Black Friday projector deals - ideally at around $1,199.99.

Newer 2024 releases aren't immune from holiday sales, though, and the one I'd recommend you watch most closely is the BenQ X300G. This is a 4K projector with a specific gaming focus, offering speedy 1080p gameplay at 240Hz or 4K 60Hz higher resolution experiences. The best part is it's also uniquely geared to run and charge gaming handhelds like the Nintendo Switch or Asus ROG Ally using just one USB-C port.

The X300G isn't one to shy away from discounts either. The $1,599.99 launch price has dropped as low as $1,399 this year so far, most recently in August. That's an impressive $200 saving considering it's a 2024 release, and one I expect to see replicated in November. If I'm really pushing my luck, and discounts are even stronger this year, we could even enjoy a $1,299.99 sales price here.

Those after a new-generation 4K projector for home cinema will want to change course and look at the XGIMI Horizon Ultra. This is a larger, and slightly more premium 4K projector, but it handles ambient lighting much better with higher brightness levels. At launch this 2024 device landed at $1,699.99, but the year so far has seen it drop to between $1,500 and $1,530 with some regularity, particularly in the last few weeks. A record-low $1,444 sale price has been spotted, so I'm hopeful for a $1,399.99 figure over Black Friday.

When will Black Friday projector deals start?

Black Friday projector deals will kick off on November 29 this year, but it's worth noting that we've consistently seen retailers offering their holiday discounts from the start of Thanksgiving week over the last few years. 2023 even kicked things off in October at some stores.

Where will the best Black Friday projector deals be?

We've all seen this movie before when it comes to the location of the deals too: the below retailers are the ones we're noting down to check out as the usual suspects, and the below links are the usual pages to check out.

US:
Amazon:
the best choice for first visits on a projector hunt
Best Buy:
regularly price matches and has a great range
Dell: stockists of primarily Epson projectors but good for parts too
Samsung: the maker of the Premier line of projectors will offer price cuts
Newegg:
known for its PC-focus but stocks well on projectors
Walmart:
often price matches and has brick-and-mortar stores for collection

UK:
Amazon:
should always be your first port of call for projector deals
Samsung: go straight to the source of the Premiere projector maker
Very: always a solid retailer option, and should have great deals this winter
Currys:
the favourite UK tech retailer often has a great range
Argos: with the possibility of same-day delivery, Argos' stock can be hot
John Lewis: bag a generous warranty with your projector from John Lewis
Box:
offers a wide range from a whole host of brands
Ebuyer: the PC specialist has a great stock list of projectors right now

Do projectors go on sale for Black Friday?

Like you wouldn't believe! Absolutely, as you can tell from this very page, we're not only versed and experienced in the Black Friday projector deals enough for you to take our word on it, but there are some highlights from last year's projector deals just below this.

Also, it won't only be protectors that go on sale for Black Friday, you should see discounts on all the accessories you need too, from screens to mounting units.

Are projectors still worth it?

As the price of a high-end model falls and the tech grows more sophisticated, projectors are still well worth it in 2023. Big-screen TV costs are still miles ahead of the price of a lense, and the performance of today's 4K and even 1080p projectors outpaces those from just a few years ago.

Are 4K projectors getting cheaper?

4K projectors were insanely expensive when they first landed on the shelves. Sony's first 4K model (and the first to hit the market) came in at over $20,000. Yeah. These days you'll find a 4K projector for around $1,000 - still pricey but far more affordable for the enthusiast upgrading from a cheaper 1080p model.

If you decide against the projector route, there are plenty of Black Friday TV deals on the horizon to take advantage of. We're rounding up everything we expect to see from Black Friday 75-inch TV deals as well as Black Friday QD-OLED deals as well.
