Black Ops 2 confirmed for Wii U -- Updated

Nothing says family fun entertainment like a dystopian sci-fi future in which robotic drones are attacking milliuons of civilians, and that's why it's nosurpriseto find that Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 has been confirmed for Nintendo's new console, the Wii U.

At the Nintendo Wii U press conference today, Joystiq snagged an early picture of a demo kiosk which very clearly shows that Blops 2 is definitely coming to Wii U.

The announcement had been rumored and teased numerous times before. Months ago there was an error in Game Informerwhich placed a Black Ops 2 preview in the Wii U section. Later there was a LinkedIn resume profile of a Treyarch QA tester which mentioned the Wii U version.

Update: Nintendo has made the news even more official as they brought Activision out on stage to make the official announcement. According to Activision, the game will run at 720p HD at 60 frames per second. It will also feature single-screen cooperative play with one player using the gamepad screen, and the other using the television. The gamepad can also be used to access features like the minimap. It also features AI bots in the multiplayer modes.
