Black Panther's Lupita Nyong'o reveals new plot details
Given that the film doesn't start shooting until January, there was no footage Black Panther director Ryan Coogler could tease at San Diego Comic Con over the weekend. We did get confirmation however that Lupita Nyong'o (among others) has been cast in the movie as a member of the Dora Milaje - that's Wakandan special forces, for the uninitiated - and the actress revealed some interesting details about the highly anticipated movie to Marvel.com (via Collider):
"The story is that the Black Panther’s leadership is really threatened by two foes who come together, and so Black Panther gets the help of the C.I.A. and the Dora Milaje to try and defeat the enemy".
We already know that one of the foes Nyong'o is referring to is Michael B. Jordan's Erik Killmonger, and my bet for who he's teaming up with is the classic Black Panther villain Ulysses Klaue. Andy Serkis introduced us to the character in Avengers: Age of Ultron and it's only logical that he'd pop up again here, likely on the hunt for Wakanda's vibranium once again. The potential combination of Killmonger and Klaue - not to mention the fact that he is also the King of Wakanda - means Black Panther will have his work cut out for him come 2018.
Directed by Ryan Coogler and starring Chadwick Boseman, Black Panther is released in UK cinemas on February 9, 2018 before opening in US theatres on February 16, 2018.
