Black Panther villain’s copycat outfit revealed – T’Challa might want to call his lawyers

As they say, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Be that as it may, T’Challa will have every right to be unimpressed with the Black Panther villain Erik Killmonger (fantastic name, by the way) and his choice of get-up.

The suit which, as is standard these days, has been revealed through a toy line (h/t ComicBook) and it looks strikingly similar to a certain Black Panther suit…

Apart from the menacing face – are those teeth? – you’d be forgiven for thinking you’ve just seen a palette swap of T’Challa’s superhero garb. There’s golden trim around the neck, waist and wrists to set itself apart from the original Black Panther outfit but it’s not exactly subtle now, is it?

The suit, which is referred to as the Golden Jaguar on the Hasbro toy line, also comes with a set of mini-swords, complete with a blue tint. I could be wrong but it sure looks like we’ll be getting our first look at Vibranium weapons (Wakanda is full of the rare element, remember).

The Panther vs. The Jaguar, then: it may sound like a Mexican wrestling match (the masks definitely fit in) but the whole of Wakanda will be at stake when the two square off in the upcoming standalone feature.

Want more Black Panther news in your life? Of course you do: the first Black Panther trailer introduces us to the wonderful world of Wakanda, and the best reactions to the SDCC footage can be found here – it sounds promising.
