Black Widow and Cap wage war in new Avengers: Age Of Ultron trailer
Marvel’s marketing blitz for its summer superhero sequel Avengers: Age Of Ultron is kicking things up a notch with the advent of a new extended TV spot. With mere weeks left until the blockbuster behemoth storms into multiplexes it’s refreshing to witness more new footage unveiled even at this late stage.
Initial trailers have zeroed in on the Avengers at large and the new big bad they’re poised to face. Iron Man and his pet project gone awry Ultron have for the most part nabbed much of the previews’ chewiest moments. That’s no longer the case as evidenced by today’s latest spot. The players remain the same but the focus shifts to emphasise two of the mighty heroes in full battle glory.
Check it out below:
Starting off in the same vein as earlier spots, the roster of Avengers is checked off with each member getting their time in the spotlight. It’s not until the final 15 seconds or so when the new cuts kick in. A bus-surfing Cap battles against one of Ultron’s mechanical underlings and loses his vibranium shield in the process. But all is not lost. Black Widow thunders down the road on her bike and returns it to him, before the pair take out a couple of the villainous minions. It’s a triumphant tease to say the least.
Avengers: Age Of Ultron opens in the UK on April 23 and the US on May 1. Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Cobie Smulders, Samuel L. Jackson, Paul Bettany, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen co-star.
