Fans of nostalgia and frenzied man-child gibbering will be pleased to know that the long-awaited sequel to Dumb And Dumber appears to be moving forwards, with Bobby Farrelly outlining his plans for the project to Digital Spy .
"It's definitely something we've been hoping for a long time," says Farrelly. "We always wanted to get the two original guys Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels back together and see what they're up to."
"Now it's almost 20 years after the original and the other guys are in a point in their career where they had so much fun the first time that they're willing to do it. We will make this movie."
Sounds like this one is actually happening, which begs the question, what exactly can we expect in terms of plot for Harry and Lloyd's latest adventure?
"The story revolves around the fact that one of them may have sired a child," explains Farrelly. "They want to go and find the child because he’s having a kidney problem and he wants to ask him for one of his kidneys."
Ah, the old kidney failure routine, a classic comedy standby. Farrelly is keen to shoot the film towards the end of this year, ahead of a potential release in Autumn 2013. And as for the characters themselves? "I can tell you that there is no growth out of either one of them."
