Bond 22 delayed
Sony put next 007 mission back to November 2008
Come on, admit it. You thought it was optimistic at the time – that somehow, those lovely people at Sony could manage to turn around another Bond movie before May 2008…
Vice chairman at Sony, Jeff Blake, has confirmed that 007’s 22nd mission, tentatively titled Risico and again starring Daniel Craig, will now take its bow in theatres on 7 November 2008.
“Eighteen months was a very short window, we’re going to stay the course,” Blake commented.
The original date was set after the firms behind Bond, Sony, Eon and MGM thought that Notting Hill helmer Roger Mitchell was firmly on board. Since Mitchell’s departure over creative differences, the hunt for a new director has yet to lead to a replacement.
Craig’s first appearance with the Walther will be in Casino Royale, set to arrive in cinemas on 17 November.
