Bond 24 henchman to be a physical adversary for Daniel Craig?
Supposed casting brief has a retro feel…
Bond 24 could see 007 confronted with one of the more physical villains he has faced in recent years, with one of the chief antagonists set to be a Jaws-esque brute.
According to fan site MI6 , the production team are searching for an actor to play what they describe as “the main assassin”, with the primary requirement being that they must be physically imposing.
Successful applicants will need to be at least 6’ 2” in height, while the report notes that “whoever wins the role will have several altercations with Daniel Craig’s 007 throughout the film… former sports athletes will be under consideration along with anyone ‘very unusual’.”
Presumably this casting would be for a supporting villain as opposed to the film’s big bad, but there’s something pleasingly retro about pitting Bond against a good old-fashioned strongman…
Directed by Sam Mendes and starring Daniel Craig, Bond 24 will open in the UK on 23 October 2015.
