Borderlands 2: new class, level cap increase detailed

Gearbox has outlined plans for future Borderlands 2 DLC including the release of a new character class, the raising of the game’s level cap, and the launch of a fourth campaign expansion pack.

On April 2 it will release the Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade pack for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. Priced at $5 or 400 MSP (but free for season pass holders), it will increase the game’s level cap from 50 to 61, Joystiq reports. On the same day, a separate free update will add a third game playthrough in the form of the Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode, which can only be accessed once players reach level 50, Eurogamer adds.

In May, the Psycho Pack will introduce a sixth playable character class, Krieg the Psycho Bandit, for $9.99 or 800 MSP. Gearbox says: “Wielding a buzz axe and harnessing his psychotic multiple personalities, Krieg is a badass melee mauler with ranged attack capabilities that can rip foes to shreds with his deadly Buzz Axe Rampage action skill. Players can stack combat bonuses with Krieg's Bloodlust skill tree, live on the edge of insanity with the Mania tree, or engulf both enemies and yourself in flames with the Hellborn tree.”

Additionally, Gearbox has teased the game’s fourth and final campaign expansion, which it simply says is due for release in June.
