Boyle's Slumdog Millionaire to close BFI Festival
While the 52nd festival opens October 15
The BFI has confirmed that this year’s 52nd BFI London Film Festival will close with a screening of Danny Boyle’s Slumdog Millionaire.
The movie tells the tale of a lad (Skins’ Dev Patel) who hits it big on the Indian version of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire. It's drawing healthy praise from audiences and critics, which makes it a smart choice for the BFI’s annual festival.
The full schedule is set to be announced at the festival’s official site on the 10th September, but it’s safe to say that at least it will close well, with not only a screening of the movie but also an interview with Boyle himself. It all starts on 15th October and runs until the 30th. Rest assured Total Film will be there to cover it in full.
