Bradley Cooper talks voicing Rocket Raccoon
Cockney accent in the offing?
Bradley Cooper has been discussing his role in Guardians Of The Galaxy , where the Oscar-nommed star will be supplying the voice of combative critter, Rocket Raccoon.
“Well, I like James [ Gunn ] a lot,” explains Cooper, “and it really was about him and then talking to him about the guy. I wasn't familiar with the comic at all and then I really loved it, and I love that character. He's incredible, that character.”
“You know, one thing we debated was how he's seen as [ having ] a cockney accent sometimes. So we talked about whether we'd do that or do this sort of other guy from the city a little bit.”
According to Cooper, the final voice has still yet to be settled upon, but it sounds as though he and Gunn are attempting to cook up something unique. Meanwhile, Cooper also took the chance to wax lyrical about his co-stars, singling out two of them for particular praise...
“Chris Pratt is unbelievable and Zoe [ Saldana ] is great, she's always great. Chris Pratt just blew me away. I thought he's just like the perfect guy.”
Directed by Gunn and co-starring Benicio del Toro, Glenn Close and Karen Gillan, Guardians Of The Galaxy will open in the UK on 1 August 2014.
