Bryan Cranston wants to play X-Men villain Mr. Sinister
Bryan Cranston has been discussing the possibility of playing a superhero, having told METRO: "I’d like to do some big superhero villain in some Marvel classic". And while he had originally suggested he’d like to play a character created "from scratch", he's now got a specific antagonist in mind.
During an appearance at the SuperMansion panel at NYCC, Cranston suggested he’d be keen to play Mr. Sinister, one of the most infamous supervillains in the X-Men universe. A telepathic, shapeshifting, regenerating wrong’un, Mr. Sinister has yet to be featured in the big-screen franchise, but must surely be a likely candidate to take on bad guy responsibilities in a future sequel.
Cranston had previously been heavily linked to the role of Lex Luthor (at least partially because he’d played a bald guy in Breaking Bad), but would certainly make for a compelling Mr. Sinister. And with Sinister himself probably the most prominent villain yet to be featured in the series, we’re hopeful this one might come to fruition. Fox, we hope you're paying attention!
