Bryan Singer says Days Of Future Past will be darker in tone
Answers fans' questions online
Bryan Singer has revealed a few new tidbits about X-Men: Days Of Future Past in a new Q and A online, explaining that the new film will have a darker tone than those that have gone before.
"Though there is a great deal of humour," begins Singer, "the overall tone is a bit darker than previous films, particularly because of the stakes." Potential extinction will do that to a mutant…
Singer went on to describe Mystique as "a much more hardened, kick-ass character than she was in First Class ", before going on to list the new mutants in the film, reeling off the names of Blink, Bishop, Sunspot, Warpath, Ink and Quicksilver.
He was also asked whether there were any characters he had yet to include in an X-Men film that he would like to. "Gambit, Deadpool, and a few others I’d rather not mention," was the response. Saving some back for another outing perhaps, Bryan?
Directed by Singer and co-starring James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Hugh Jackman, X-Men: Days Of Future Past will open in the UK on 23 May 2014.
