Are you a Star Wars fan and a keen model builder, or someone who's always wanted to get into model-building, but weren't sure where to start? Well, you won't have to search the galaxy any longer - De Agostini has launched a new, official X-wing model that you can build yourself with its Build Your Own X-wing magazine series. If you want to assemble an iconic piece of the Star Wars universe that you'll cherish forever, this is the series for you. Click here to learn more

The official X-wing model celebrates the release of Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker, the end of the saga that has captivated us for over 40 years. What better way to honor the legacy of Luke Skywalker than by building a stunning model of his iconic Red Five X-wing, the same one he piloted to defeat the Death Star in the original Star Wars? Issue by issue you will have all the instructions and kit pieces you need to assemble this 1:18 scale Disney-approved and officially licensed model. Once fully assembled, it’s 74.4cm long and stands 18.7cm tall, with a wingspan of 65.2 cm, and is made from high quality metal and ABS plastic.

Luke Skywalker's Red Five X-wing comes loaded with all of the incredible details that make the Star Wars universe special: cockpit, torpedo bay, removable hyperdrive unit, motors that will make the "S-foil" wings open into their distinctive "X" attack configuration, and a miniature R2-D2 figure that fits into a socket behind the cockpit. Every issue of the magazine includes a detailed assembly guide that takes you step-by-step through the construction process, but you'll also get rare photos and interesting details about how Industrial Light & Magic created the movies' props and miniatures. This is truly a collectible for the ages: a high quality X-wing model you can build with your own hands, no Force required. You can take out a subscription to build for the officially licensed model here. Every subscriber who completes the collection will receive five free gifts, including a binder, two X-wing bookends, and a USB powerbank.

With a regular subscription, issue one retails at the special price of £0.99, issue two costs £4.99, and each issue thereafter costs £9.99. But, for a little extra, you can get for the Premium subscription, which comes with an exclusive hangar diorama including a Luke Skywalker figure that slots into the X-wing’s cockpit, working landing lights, and ground crewmen figurines.

It's the holiday season, and this X-Wing Starfigther is an unforgettable gift that will last a lifetime.
