Bulletstorm demo coming January 25
Get a taste of Epic and People Can Fly's clever kills and obscene one-liners
There's a storm approaching! It's not a big deal, though - just know that if you live in Michigan you may see 2 to 4 inches of snow tonight, so have that shovel ready to clear out the drive in the morning. Also, a Bulletstorm demo is coming to Xbox Live and PSN later this month.
The demo will feature a peek at the game's "Echo" mode, which records and compares scores as players take on locations isolated from the single-player campaign. The snippet featured in the demo will have players "traverse a collapsed building on the deadly paradise planet Stygia as ex-Dead Echo leader Grayson Hunt." That's right - the game is so intense that it features oxymoronic deadly paradises.
Above: This probably isn't in the demo
You'll get to play with the game's "Skillshot" system, which encourages extra-creative murderizing, as well as some of its larger-than-Cloud-Strife weapons, including the "futuristic" Peace Maker Carbine, the Flail Gun, which "fires two grenades linked by a chain," and the Screamer, "a powerful revolver that turns enemies into human fireworks."
But boring old fun isn't all you get for playing the demo! You'll also be able to unlock platform-specific upgrades for the full game's Anarchy mode. Suck on some incentive!
On January 25, the demo will be available worldwide on Xbox Live, and in North America on PSN. It will be available on PSN in Europe the next day. There's no word on a PC demo.
Bulletstorm will release for reals on February 22 in North America and February 25 in Europe. Because GamesRadar is a website about games, and Bulletstorm is a game, we have more information on it, including previews and trailers, so look at that. And if you're in Michigan, remember close your car's sunroof.
