Capcom to release Devil May Cry 4 Refrain for iOS systems
Nero to star in portable retelling of Capcom's 2008 demonic adventure
Capcom is cutting Nero down to size for the release of Devil May Cry 4: Refrain – an iOS version of its 2008 hit action title of the same name (minus the "Refrain") which seeks to bring the fast, frenetic action of the DMC series to iPods and iPhones without cramping fingers and breaking thumbs in the process.
Available soon, the game will star Nero and retell the events of DMC 4 through 10 “maze-like” levels complete with collectables, demonic foes and a towering boss battles. Combat will be handled through a somewhat simplistic button interface that will grant players easy access to Nero's sword, guns, demon hand, and special attacks, all of which can be used alone or in combination. As is typical for any DMC entry, iOS demon slayers will also be able to hack away for red orbs which can be spent on combat upgrades and new abilities.
The Devil May Cry series is known for its fast, fluid action so it'll be something of a challenge for Capcom to bring that same sense of speed and frantic combat to the small screens.
Devil May Cry 4 Refrain is slated for a late January release in the App Store with future updates to bring new challenge modes and the main man himself, Dante, into the action.
