Another vampire and a witch
Two more names have been added to the cast of The Vampire Diaries spin-off, The Originals , reports TVLine .
Charles Michael Davis ( The Game ) has been cast as Marcel, Klaus’ diabolical former protégé.
Meanwhile, Daniella Pineda (who has previously appeared in an episode of Homeland ) will play Sophie, a witch whose magic “has been silenced but not snuffed”.
They join the already-confirmed Joseph Morgan (original vampire Klaus), Daniel Gillies (his brother Elijah) and Phoebe Tonkin (werewolf Hayley), all of whom have been regular or recurring characters on The Vampire Diaries .
They will all first appear in an episode of The Vampire Diaries which will broadcast on 25 April in the the States, and which will serve as a kind of back-door pilot for The Originals .
In the episode, which has been written by The Vampire Diaries executive producer Julie Plec, Klaus returns to the French Quarter of New Orleans, a supernatural melting pot that he helped build centuries ago, and is reunited with the wild, wicked and bold Marcel, who now calls the shots in the area. Intent on helping his self-destructive brother find redemption, Elijah must side with Marcel’s enemies to keep Klaus in line.
